The Tau Gamma Gamma Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated was chartered on December 6, 1987, at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Known throughout the world as the Home of the Airborne Ques, the chapter brings together military and civilian Brothers committed to the cardinal principles of Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance, and Uplift.

Founding and Chartering: 1985–1988

In May 1985, Brother Gale Matthew Collins, chapter founder and Basileus Emeritus, began the effort to establish a graduate chapter of Omega Psi Phi at Fort Bragg. Assisted by Major (Brother) Milton J. Cross, he pursued that goal with perseverance, energy, and enthusiasm.

The proposed chapter faced significant opposition, and the chartering process took more than two years. Throughout that effort, the founding Brothers remained united by shared ideals, a commitment to service, and a desire to improve the lives of others.

On October 2, 1986, an application for chapter status was submitted to the Supreme Council at Omega Psi Phi’s International Headquarters. The Supreme Council granted the chapter’s charter on December 6, 1987.

The formal charter dedication took place on February 20, 1988, at 8:00 p.m. in the Main Officers’ and Civilians Club at Fort Bragg. Sixth District Representative Brother William H. Hoffer conducted the dedication ceremony. Brother C. Tyrone Gilmore, First Vice Grand Basileus, delivered the keynote address.
